Tina Stevenshas joined VML as the Director of Human Resources. Tina comes to us with more than 25 years of human resources experience most recently with the American Heart Association and First Health Services Corporation. Tina is a graduate of the University of Richmond and has her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation. In addition to handling our internal human resources functions, Tina will be serving in a consulting role to members of the Virginia Municipal Liability Pool (VMLP) that purchase Public Officials Liability coverage. She will work closely with Thomas Bullock and Tracey Dunlap to develop model policies and other training materials to assist members in controlling their employment practices liability claims.
Lisa Ford has been promoted to Accounting Supervisor. In Lisa's new role, she will supervise two accounting assistants, one of whom will handle payables and the other receivables. Lisa will also be handling the daily administration of benefits. These changes are part of our internal control improvement process. Lisa has been with us since September 2003 and has proven herself to be a valuable asset to VML Insurance Programs.
Anne Fernandez has joined VML as the Member Services Assistant. Anne is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Anne has over 18 years of experience in marketing and graphic design. She will be assisting Greg Dickie and Barry Green in the Member Services department.
Kelly Thorne, CISR has joined VML Insurance Programs as an Associate Underwriter. Kelly is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management. Kelly has over 14 years of experience in the insurance industry.
Karen Wall Administrative Assistant ? Safety Department Karen begins as an administrative assistant to the Safety Department on June 27, 2007. She comes to us from Community-Based Services in Richmond where she performed a variety of administrative and special project duties with this organization. Prior experience includes managing a location of the Aquarian Bookshop and office manager and trainer with East Coast Oil Corporation, both of Richmond . Karen holds a B.S in Mass Communication with a specialization in public relations from Virginia Commonwealth University .
